* Exported from MasterCook * Dessert Egg Rolls Recipe By : Dessert Show# DS3011 Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Desserts Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- Filling: 3 lb Tart green apples -- - peeled, cored, sliced thin 1/2 c Sugar -- - plus extra for sprinkling 1/2 c Apricot jam 2 Lemons -- grated zest of Nutmeg -- freshly grated, - to taste Apple pie spice -- to taste 1 c Walnuts -- toasted, chopped 1/2 c Unsalted butter -- melted 1/4 c Apple juice 1 Pkg egg roll wrappers Caramel sauce Place apples, apple juice, sugar, jam, zest, nutmeg, and apple pie spice in a large heavy skillet. Cook over medium-high heat, covered, until apples are tender about 10 to 15 minutes. Stir in walnuts and taste and adjust seasonings. Place several tb filling at an angle in the center of an eggroll wrapper. Roll up like an envelope, lightly moistening edges with water to seal. Place seam-side down on buttered baking sheet. Repeat until all filling is used. Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar. Place under hot broiler until golden about 3 to 5 minutes.
