      Title: Banana Oatmeal Bread
 Categories: Breads2, Brdmachine
      Yield: 1 large loaf

    1/4 c  Water
      1    Extra-large egg
      1 c  Mashed very ripe bananas
      3 tb Brown sugar
  1 1/2 ts Salt
      4 tb Powdered buttermilk
      1 c  Quick-cooking oats
  2 1/2 c  Unbleached white flour
    1/3 c  Steel-cut oats, soaked in
    1/3 c  Boiling water until the
           -mixture is at room temp.
      1 tb Yeast

  Place all ingredients in the machine, program for White Bread.

  This bread has all the wonderful qualities of a banana quick bread--flavor
  and moistness--plus the characteristics that we love in yeast bread--great
  texture and a heavenly crust. The riper the bananas, the more flavor
  you'll get.
