---------- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.05 Title: Hot Water Cornbread Categories: Breads Yield: 30 Servings 1 c White corn meal 1 c Yellow corn meal 1 ts Salt 2 tb Shortening 2 c Water 1/2 ts Baking powder 2 tb Water; warm Combine first 3 ingredients in a bowl. Add shortening. Bring 2 cups water to a rolling boil; add to corn meal mixture, stirring well. Let cool 20 minutes. Combine baking powder and 2 tb water. Add to corn meal mixture; stir. Shape dough into 1" balls. Press each ball between two fingers to make a slight indention on two sides. Carefully drop shaped dough into deep hot oil (375 F) for 55 minutes or until pie is set.
