i went for the car by bus this morning
by google maps authority i planned around a 40 minute walk
to reach our closest bus stop
using the obvious short cut through the forest cut at least
10 minutes from the walk and i happened to meet a neighbor
for the first time. she was walking her pet dogs. i told
her about my errand, the "stranded" situation we've found
ourselves in and she invited us over for dinner and that we
could borrow a car from her household whenever we need it.

it was only 7.45 and the day showed a lot of promise
a few hours later i'm at the city library
and by way of writing trying to make sense of if and then
by what degree my life or outlook or my values or hopes
or visions or motivations or fears or ambitions or personal
relations or sense of agency et cetera ... are affected by
the recent geo-political turn of events

i have now spent about twelve hours pondering this and feel
that it doesn't quite compete for a top ranking in the list
of already acknowledged existential threats to me

the russian invasion of ukraine and the preceding conflict
since 2014 is totally insane but the insistence on calling
it an attack on european sovereignty is self-deception
and merely what we in sweden call "signalpolitik"

the political and cultural tension in and around eastern
ukraine has no counterpart in the rest of europe
and framing this story entirely around the aggressor hinges
entirely on ignoring recent history and the role of the
world police and might in fact only serve the latter's
       further imperial interests

i would hate to be proven wrong but i don't expect there to
be any follow up invasion of any other european country

       BUT

trump gaslighting a whole country that has sacrificed a
generation to war really creates precedence for a culture
where explicit bullying is the norm and where the reverence
for truth is not something that tend to get in the way of
getting things done, but something that just isn't anything
       at all it seems

this timeline is so fucking annoying
