About Me
--------

I am a software lead from the US and have been creating software
professionally since about 2007. I got my start writing Windows
desktop applications using C# and .NET. Then slowly got into
 databases and web applications.

Now, I'm trying to simplify my life with some digital minimalism
and am swearing off social media of any kind (well, except for
tilde.club but it doesn't count!) I used to have Facebook, Reddit,
YouTube, etc... but I've found the modern web too full of ads,
dark patterns, tracking, and trash and am trying to get away from
it and back towards the web I grew up with in the early 90s.

I enjoy reading about early mediterranean civilizations (Greeks,
Romans, Bynzantines) as well as ancient Egypt and the middle ages.
I enjoy gardening when the weather is nice while havingr a good cigar.

Also, I like root beer, pizza, and hot wings :)
