Speed Results : CyberVisionPPC - CyberVision64 - CyberVision64/3D
Here are some speed precent numbers to look over. In general gfx test are not
very good real world tests.... but they can give you a general idea between
the differences on the cards in _some_ cases. In the tables below the CV64/3D is the base card.
In general the results give a good indication on relative results but should not be taken absolute for other systems.
Below are the speed results using SysSpeed V2.6 found on Aminet. The results
are in Operations per second for the CyberVisionPPC, CyberVision64 and CyberVision64/3D all
running an A4000T with a 66mhz 68060 and 200mhz PPC.
Screen modes for ALL cards were 640x480 in 70hz, 800x600 in 75hz and 1024x768 in 75hz.
1024x768x24 is not tested for cv3d and cv64 because they can't display 24bit in 75hz.
A few notes about SysSpeed: "SysSpeed is no
good for graphics benchmarks really IMHO, anyway. Most operations are limited
to the cpu actually, not the graphics controller. Tests like WritePixel for
example give me the same results for CV3D, CV64 and CVPPC
which all have different memory bandwidths. Text output speed might improve in a
future driver..... The rectfill test in SysSpeed does not really
give a usable result, since rectfilling is at least about 6 times faster on
cvppc than cv64 but SysSpeed only fills small rectangles and messures a lot of cpu overhead.
Most intuition tests are heavily related to the frame rate."
Openwin test is limited to half the framerate because it syncs with the framerate two times for every operation.
Same for swapscreen which is limited to framerate because it syncs one time with the framerate.
