This is the first of many phloggings you will be recieving from me,
inshallah. Let it sink in. Good, now stop doing that.

I came to Circumlunar Space to escape a few things. The first is the
noise, and the second is the bloat. I was getting too much of both
from the internet *out there* for as long as I've ever used it.

I was born around the start of this millenium, and so, like many of my
peers, much of my adolescense was dominated by the internet, and by
social media in particular. Who can say how much permenant damage
this exposure had on my psyche, but it certainly couldn't have been
nothing. Luckily, after fantasizing about it for the better part of a
year, I bit the bullet and deleted my Instagram account, along with
almost all other social media, in 2022. Then I bit the bullet and
switched to a flip phone for a year in 2023 (it was a Nokia 2780 if
you are interested). That was quite the leap, but I'm very glad I
made it. Perhaps I'll go into more detail about that experience in a
       future phlogging.

It was in 2023 that I also started developing an interest in Linux
FOSS, the details of which is probably another future phlogging.
Anyhow, then I started learning about the small internet, which was
such a joy to discover. By the time I was old enough to know how to
work a computer on my own, we were probably at the tail end of the
internet's wild-west phase. The five or six that now form the
internet was just starting to sink its teeth into our minds, getting
ready to suck them dry of all their worth. That is all to say, this
was not a nostalgia trip for me. I never read blogs. I never spent
hours clicking links that took me off the platform I started on.
Hell, I never even knew what a web-ring was, let alone explore one.
So to actually experience the joys of using the world wide web as it
       was intended felt almost magical.

I'm excited to see what comes of my involvement here in Circumlunar
Space, and am excited to meet my fellow sundogs.
