@ZenHeathen That the Arch wiki is bigger than your will to read it all.

@krypt3ia You can be damn sure they’ll launch a premium life season pass before everything goes sideways.

Accidentally typed ubuntu.de instead of ubuntu.com. Stumbled into a german circus.Who would have thought that one day I might admire a carnival for being better organized than my docker containers.

@LovesTha It's not an out of the box parental control system. You do not control the accounts directly. You control the server and with that are able to create private rooms with a fixed ruleset. Disable federation so accounts only talk to users on your server and use scripts to enforce rules or filters as needed.

@LovesTha E2EE DMs cannot be read by the server. So you can either prevent DMs entirely or force all communication into monitored rooms.

@LovesTha There’s no built-in way to lock a client to a single server. Device-level controls can handle some of the restrictions you're aiming for but at that point it might be more about educating on risk aversion online.

@LovesTha The docker image runs a regular python environment so you can just pip install the modules you need and list them under modules: in your .yaml file.https://synapse.docs.vertex.link/en/latest/synapse/devguides/docker.html https://matrix-org.github.io/synapse/v1.40/modules.html

@bschorr I’m fully on board with the idea that mental health care should be universal and free. But saying AI pop-psychology is “better than nothing” until we get there is the same logic as saying a pinch of crack is fine because it beats feeling miserable for an hour.

My favourite bedtime story to tell someday will be about time spent online that didn’t involve dismissing pop-ups for an hour.

@Terranerin @netzpolitik Schwierig wenn Menschen über digitale Unabhängigkeit entscheiden, die beim Wort Cloud ans Wetter denken.
