Using ATM With The Magicorp Slide Service:

You can use Adobe Type Manager with MAGICorp Fonts.

The contents of MAGICORP.ATM needs to be added to the ATM.INI file located
in your Windows directory.

1. Open the File MAGICORP.ATM with Notepad (or any text editor).
MAGICorp.ATM is located on your MAGICorp subdirectory.

2. Select the font mappings listed in the [ALIASES] section for your version
   of ATM.

3. Select Copy from the Edit menu.

4. Open the file ATM.INI.

5. Scroll down to the section titled [ALIASES].

6. Place the cursor on a new line.

7. Select Paste from the Edit menu.

8. Scroll a little further to the section titled [SYNONYMS].

9. Place the cursor on a new line.

10. Select Paste for the Edit menu.

11. Save the file.

You must restart Windows for the new settings to take effect. Output to
other printing devices will not be affected.

This "font mapping" is a process of using one font for the screen display
and another for printing. Hence, the line: Swiss 721=Helvetica in the
Aliases section tells ATM Helvetica for the screen whenever Swiss 721 is
selected. All font statements in the ATM.INI must be entered in that order.
ATM works with Adobe fonts while MAGICorp uses Bitstream Printer fonts. If
you purchase more Adobe fonts (than the ones that come with the basic ATM
package) you may wish to do some font mapping on your own. If you add font
mapping statements to the Aliases list be sure that the name of the MAGICorp
font is typed exactly as it appears in the application's font list
Any additions to the Aliases list must also be added to the MAGIFONT.MAP
(located in the \Windows\System subdirectory) file. The font mapping line
should contain the same mapping but must be typed atm name=magicorp name.
For example the line in the ATM.INI aliases section reads:
Swiss 721=Helvetica but in the MAGIFONT.MAP table it is entered
as: Helvetica=Swiss 721.

ATM cannot dither color. It can only represent solid color to the screen.
If your display is only 16 colors, colors chosen outside the palette will be
mapped to a solid color on the screen. Sometimes a custom color's screen
representation may look way off i.e. white in place of a light green. The
file, however, will contain the color information of the custom color you
selected, so your slide will turn out fine. This problem should not exist
for users with a 256 color display.
