README for ParaWIN.
********************************************************************************

Information in this file is related to the latest release of ParaWIN,
and may be subjected to any changes without notification.

This file is divided into three major parts:
	1. ParaWIN installation and possible problems.
	2. Changing Keyboard Layouts.
	3. Editing Keyboard Layouts.

==============================================
ParaWIN installation and possible problems.
==============================================

During the ParaWin installation, the installation program allows you to
choose - either install or not install the screen fonts - these are
system screen fonts (MS Sans Serif and System for Windows 3.1 and Helv
and System for Windows 3.0). If you don't need these fonts to be
changed - leave them as they are, unchecking the appropriate check box
in ParaWIN installation dialog. As these fonts are rarely used in hard-copy
documents, you should usually not change them and not replace with
local-language variants.

Network installation.

If you are installing ParaWIN at a network, you'll get a "warning" message,
telling you, that you really do this (installing on network), and that ParaWIN
files will be copied onto you workstation hard disk, if it is present. That
means, that to setup ParaWIN on server you must log in as supervisor to have
access rightes to server hard drive.
If you are reinstalling ParaWIN or installing over an older version, you can
get a message during the installation, that installation program was unable to
copy some files (typically they are worldkbd.drv, kbdflash.exe or mgrlib.dll).
This occurs if you have some of ParaWIN's programs activated. Close all the
ParaWIN - related windows and choose "Retry" in the diallog box displayed.

Choosing hotkey.

Hotkey, which you choose during installation is a key, that will serve you to
switch keyboards.
On most laptop and notebook machines the right "Ctrl" key, which is the default
ParaWIN's choice, is not present. The recommended choice in this case is right
Shift, or CapsLock keys.

=================================================
Changing keyboard layouts.
=================================================

You can add and remove the keyboard layouts to your installed ones.
You can have up to eight layouts simultaneously. To perform Add or
Remove operation run ParaWIN from Program Manager or from any other of
your favourite shells and then choose "Add/Remove" item from "Layouts" menu.

============================================
Editing keyboard layouts.
============================================

All of your installed keyboards may be subjected to direct editing.
To edit a keyboard start ParaWIN, then start Keyboard Editor, by choosing
"Edit.." from "Layouts" menu.

Warning! Current version of Keyboard Editor doesn't supports deadkeys.
You won't get an appropriate result with them.

Warning! When you edit and save a keyboard for the first time, a permanent
Keyboard Image file is created. It is named kbdedxx.bin, where xx - a decimal
number. Don't delete these files from your Windows or System directory in
any case. To remove them use "File", "Delete" option from Keyboard Layout
Editor's menu.
