In this text file is a brief history of Cron. This will
give you a feeling for all of the background quests in
this map (aside from the main quest). Also, below, there
is a summary of the important geographical features of
Cron. This will be helpful because there are many
references in the map to certain places that you need to
go. Keep this file handy while you are playing (of course
if you own a copy of the original map of M&M II, that
will be much better).

Cron History: Please Forgive me for all the text in this
map and in this text file. Because it is based
off of the story of the game, you may find it
very difficult to complete the map the way it
is meant to be completed without some knowledge
of the background story and geography. Therefore
some of the events in the first week are quite
long. I'll make the history here as brief as
	possible.

First there was only void. Then came Water, under
the leadership of Acwalandar. He ruled for many
centuries. Then the Lords of Air arrived, intent
on destroying the Lords of Water. Shalwend led
the forces of Air, and though he was strong,
neither side could win. Seeking a way to disrupt
this stalemate, Acwalandar, he created a new
force known as Fire, whose leader was known as
	Pyrranaste.

Though strong, Fire was too few in number to
defeat Air. Also, Pyrranaste hated being in
servitude to the Lords of Water. Eventually,
Fire tried to break peacefully with Air, much
to the consternation of Water. Acwalandar declared
war on both Fire and Air. In turn, Air fought
Water and Fire, and so on. In the midst of this
Chaos, Earth arose, led by Gralkor the Cruel.
It took the combined strength of the other
elements to defeat Earth. The remants of their
battle, which did not see a victor, is what is
	now known as Cron.

From other worlds came what the elementals viewed
as small, pitiful creatures (humans). The humans
grew ambitious and tried to take the world as
their own. The elementals did not like this at
all and were forced into action, but it was too
late. All of the most powerful human spellcasters
gathered on the Isle of the Ancients and created
an orb of phenomenal power. One Wizard, Kalohn,
took the Orb to the top of the tallest mountain
in Cron and challenged the elemental lords to a
fight. The mountain was destroyed in the battle,
forming what is known now as the Forbidden Zone.
However, Kalohn emerged victorious, and used the
power of the Orb to banish the elementals to a
	corner of the world.

Acwalandar was furious at his defeat and vowed
revenge. He studied magic for years and
eventually created the first Dragon. The Dragon
flew towards Cron in an attempt to destroy the
world, but Kalohn met the Dragon in the Savannah
of Plenty. Unfortunately, Kalohn was not strong
enough to win the Dragon because he lacked calmness
of mind. The battle was quick and Kalohn was
killed, but the magic of the orb changed the
beautiful planes into a dire swamp. The dragon,
who had no wings, drowned. The aftermath of the
battle was disasterous. Without a king, the
world was plunged into chaos, and that was how
Cron was for many, many years.

Then a band of heroes came (Might and Magic II)
and rid the world of many of these problems.
After the success of the heroes, the land was
divided among four lords who are called, rightly
enough, the Four Lords. They were to see to
the administration of the Land of Cron,
including the five great cities. It was a council
of sorts. Now it is several hundred years later
and a problem has come about (which you'll find
out about in playing the map). You are one of
the Four Lords. Yada yada... you should know
that the elemental lords were never killed and
they would love to dispose of the human race.
That's about it for the history of Cron.

Geography: Imagine the map divided from A to E along
the top and 1 to 5 along the side. I will give
you the location of certain places using these
coordinates. E.g. Tundara is in A1; that means
it is in the very top left corner. By using
these coordinates you can approximately find
the locations which I am alluding to.

	Castle Pinehurst: A3
	Castle Woodhaven: C1
	Castle Hillstone: D5
	Luxus Palace: D2
	Air, Water, Fire, Earth Planes: A1, A5, E1, E5
	Corak's Woods (forest maze): B2
	Lost Souls (town): C1
	Jouster's Way (town): A3-B3
Druid's Point (Shrine of Loblare): C3-C4
Isle of Ancients (with 2 towers): B4

I think that's about all you need to know. These are
