Kev's Quest

HOMM II Expansion Pack required
Extra Large Map (Tough)
Single Human against 5 Allied Computer Opponents
Loss of Original Hero = Loss of Game

Heir to a vast army and a legendary lucky coin, Lord Kev sets
forth in quest of fame and fortune. The map is designed to
require substantial exploration before you can confront your
enemies, and by the time you can reach them they'll be quite
strong.

Please read all the signs. In some cases they contain
important information, or will "guide" you to events. In
others, they might give you a chuckle or two.

Enjoy!

Hints and spoilers below -- don't page down if you don't want
to see them!

The first town you'll come to is undefended ... grab it!

Your enemies can't reach you until you do something that allows
them to, like remove the protections from one of the two liths
up the resource-strewn paths north of Trilithium, or leave a
boat for them to use.

You can invade your enemies' lands either via liths or via
boats. Liths are probably the safer choice, since they limit
the possible points of counterattack.

You can cheat Slimy Slim of his fees by spending all your money
on troops, castle upgrades, etc., before entering the shops.

There are two heroines and a hero imprisoned in jails on the
northern continent. All three have artifacts and are well
worth freeing.

Well into the game, you'll be able to free a heroine in the far
northwest who has a single ghost. By this time, even the
easier monster groups will quickly destroy a single ghost, but
you have several options: 1) combine the ghost with a stronger
army and only use it to "mop up" at the end of the battle; 2)
save the "do-it-yourself" skeleton factory for the ghost; 3)
buy a boat and visit the Isle of Happy Peaceful Peasants. The
ghost can easily survive peasants, especially if you attack at
the flanks and lend a little help against the group next to the
one attacked with blind, lightning bolt, etc.
