                   MAGELLAN'S MAP SUBMISSION

Map Name: Last Hope III: Adjudication (adjudication.mx2)
          (originally named Trials of Corribus)

Version: 1.26

MODIFICATIONS 10/06/98
1. Fixed incorrect wording of the sphinx's riddle. Should
have read 10 BILLION instead of 10 TRILLION. Thanks to
Mark Fiala for pointing it out to me.

Map Maker: Timothy V. Duncan

E-Mail Address:	tduncan@haverford.edu

Map Type:	Single Player Expert Medium Coopertive

Description:	Continuation of Corribus Series
		Part 1: Last Hope
		Part 2: THUNK
		Part 3: Adjudication
		Part 4: Toran Rift
		Part 5: Cave of Dreams
		Part 6: Retribtion
		Part 7: Abode of Evil

Special Win:	You and Red vs. everybody else.

Special Loss:	Lose Corribus

Special Other: There is a known bug in the map, which
at this time I am unable to fix. There
are three THUNKs on the map which, after
you vanquish them, can be rehired from
the hero pool. This of course gives you
access to their ultimate artifacts. For
your own enjoyment, I'd ask if you don't
rehire these heros once they are defeated.

Narrative:	As with Part II, a lot of the story will
be carried out via text file. See
journal.txt for a continuation of the
story where it left off in part II (and
at the appropriate times in the map).
Note: it isn't truly necessary to read
the journal text to play the map, but it
probably will help, and if you've played
the other maps in the series, you might
actually be curious as to how the story
		plays out.

Quick Note on Difficulty: I think choosing map difficulty
is a difficult thing to do. I had
originally rated this map as expert,
because the computer starts out in a
		very advantageous position. On the
advice of the playtester, however, I
bumped it down to tough because you get
to choose when to engage them.

All Human Sides
Completely
Play-Tested:	Yes

SPOILERS:	WARNING!!! SPOILER INFORMATION FOLLOWS PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK!

1. Escape from the Island. Don't try to take over
purple's castles. First, you probably won't succeed,
and second you'll ruin the story line (I've tried my
hardest to make purple's starting position weak enough
so that they won't attack you outright, yet strong
enough so you can't vanquish purple in the first week!)
If you feel up to it, it might be useful to vanquish a
few of purple's heros before you leave the island,
however, but don't try to attack Kyle, even if his army
looks weak. He probably will still win.

2. Build up some forces at your new castle. You should
get an event in the next week telling you that the
barbarians to the northwest have a lot of resources. You
can either go there or to the southeast and retake the
towns that your ally (who should die pretty quickly) had.

3. After you've pretty much killed yellow, start on the
five wizard factories. They shouldn't be too tough
once you've built an army up.

4. Seven days after orange is killed, it will be safe to
enter the THUNK containment area because the THUNKS will
have died. Find the obelisk.

5. When you are ready, go for purple. The UA should be
in purple's main island, so you'll have to be sneaky
about getting it before Kyle attacks you.

6. One last note: do NOT enter the containment area until
orange has been vanquished. The THUNKs will smash you
and they'll be released to wreak havoc upon you!

7. The sphinx riddle: I was also advised to dump the
sphinx riddle, but elected to keep it because I think it
is an interesting question. You'll need a calculator
for it, and remember, circumference equals 2*Pi*r!
