Although I've been using Linux exclusively for more than 20 years,
and have been using a significant number of text-based programs in
that time, Gopher was never one I even looked at. I'd heard of it
since my first dip into the internet, but my limited understanding
of it led me to assume it was no more than a file downloader.
So it's only now, in 2025, that I was educated in what Gopher
really is. There are things about it that I don't understand, but
what I've learned so far has me getting more interested by the day.

The intent of this burrow, at least for now, is to become familiar
with Gopher to where I'm spending more time using it than learning
how to use it. That was an awkwardly worded sentence, but it's a
complicated task trying to write lines as close to, but not over,
sixty-seven characters as possible (I know...just go with it...)
while maintaining proper grammer, structure, and meaning within
those lines, while you're high.
At the same time, my history using the internet always involved
freely sharing files, so Gopher is well-suited to me.
