# Core words accelerator

Core words are implemented in either Forth or HAL because we want to keep
kernels small, but also, we don't have access to a full-fledged assembler during
bootstrapping.

Some of those words, such as "move", "fill" and "idx" are particularly speed
sensitive. On some CPUs, the HAL-generated code is fine, but on some others,
there are important speedups to be gained by using CPU-specific instructions.

Once the system is done bootstrapping, it has access to full-fledged assemblers,
so what about using them to assemble faster versions of those words? Well yeah,
that's what we do here.

This unit has no API. All you have to do is to load it. Depending on the value
of "ARCH", it will load the proper assembler and re-assemble faster version of
core words, where it makes sense.

It will also realias core words to make them point to the accelerated version
so that words that have already compiled calls to those speed-sensitive words
we're accelerating also benefit from the speedup.
