TWOG is a web log about my adventures in retrocomputing on TWENEX.ORG, a simulated TOPS-20 system operated by SDF Public Access UNIX. TOPS-20 (nicknamed "TWENEX") was an operating system for the former Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC)'s historically influential PDP-10 line of mainframe computers.
I am the author and programmer of TWOG. A Catholic family man and US ex-patriot living in Japan since 1991. I have spend my career in corporate IT and am currently working as an IT security auditor.
I have dabbled with computers since my misspent youth long ago in the seventies. I have programmed FORTRAN on punch cards, taught myself BASIC on Dad's Apple ][, and briefly had an account on one of the MIT ITS systems. So many missed opportunities, I now hack to make up for lost time .... ;)
