I did a fairly quick port of 1st Edition Plan 9 to the LX/Classic in 1993,
based on the Sparcstation port,
which I might have updated to 2nd Edition in 1995;
this is the last version I have on my file server. I haven't had
the Sparc hardware for 8 years and consequently I can neither test nor update
this port.

I was helpfully provided by Sun UK with documentation for the Sparc Microengine
(one of the micro-Sparcs used in embedded systems), a two or three volume set.
It was not under NDA, and although the microEngine is not quite the same as the
LX/Classic, the handbooks sufficed, given the existing Sparcstation port,
the SunOS booting messages, and some investigation with the Openboot PROM.
See the files Devices and LX.Dmesg.

You might compare with the later ss10 port, bearing in mind that
all the Sparcs were significantly different at that stage.
There were some interesting gadgets on board that were documented (audio, ISDN, I think)
in the microEngine handbooks, which you might be able to track down.
Furthermore, there might now be NetBSD/FreeBSD/OpenBSD or Linux ports
to the devices that might provide further hints about the LX/Classic hardware.
At the time, no other system but SunOS/Solaris ran on the hardware.
