The
\f4yppoll\fR
command asks a
\f4ypserv\fR(1M)
process what the order number is, and which host
is the master
\s-1YP\s0
server for the named map.

The following options are available:

Use
\f2ypdomain\fR
instead of the default domain.
.TP
\f4\-h \f2host\fR
Ask the
\f4ypserv\fR
process at
\f2host\fR
about the map parameters.
If
\f2host\fR
is not specified, the
\s-1YP\s0
server for the local host is used.
That is, the default host is the one returned by
\f4ypwhich\fR(1).
