I am in Oberlin right now, which is about 20+ miles away from where
I am staying. I used to come out here to get away from ... I miss
this place. It is very small town U.S.A. I don't really get to
experience too much of that, living in a big city these days.

Brunch was had at The Feve. I miss that place too. I had me some
creamy grits with wild mushrooms, beets, pine nuts, scorched
brussel sprouts, and a sunnyside egg on top, washing it down with
a damn fine cup of coffee! Good eatin'! I've been eating way too
much homestyle Midwest food that sticks to my insides for the cold.
My body is not used to this kinda eating these days, so I was happy
to try something different. I think I have had at least 5 meals
with some kind of corned beef in it since I got here. Even got me
       some pierogies.

One of the things that I got to experience was the Cleveland St.
Patty's Day Parade. I haven't been since I ditched school and got
drunk to attend before the turn of the century. I took The Rapid
(train) into Terminal Tower and hiked over to the parade route,
which moved over a block since I last attended. Luckily, the route
was near the old Arcade, which was where I, and many other parade
attendees, was able to take shelter in from the cold wind coming
off of Lake Erie. I think the high that day was 25F and the wind
       chill made it m0ar fridged.

When the parade started come by, I went outside to find my spot on
the route. It had started snowing and the wind was blowing. Good
thing I was bundled up. I had 5 layers on and long johns. I got
to experience frozen fingers and toes again. I almost forgot what
that was like. I did find some ebike for rent lying down on the
sidewalk. I never rode one of these things, but I noticed that it
had a center stand so I lifted it up and parked it next to a sign
to block the wind. I put the ebike on its center stand and that
was where I placed myself for the parade. I could sit on the bike
without it falling over and I could stand on the pedals to look
over the crowd in front of me when the parade went by. Easy setup
and I didn't need to bring a chair. Much enjoyment was experienced
at the parade and of course I had to get my corned beef and cabbage
       on. What a day!

Oh, also, that morning was the morning of that meteor that crashed
over in Medina around 9AM. I heard and felt the shockwave,
wondering, WTF?!?! Crazy. Then went to the parade. I didn't find
out until later that it was a meteor and the sonic boom was heard
and felt over multiple states and even Canadia! 2 meters in
diameter, 6 tons, and travelling at over 45,000 mph! Grateful that
it didn't fall on my head! Strange happening in Ohio.
