I haven't been writing too much lately. I haven't felt like
writing all that much but a lot has been going on. No mental
bandwidth to process much, but I'm trying to keep on keeping
       on.

I'm spending some time right now with a setup I've been
trying to tinker with. Right now, I am currently on the Dell
7202 rugged tablet, with the VuFine wearable display attached
to the mini HDMI port and I have the Gemini PDA tethered to
the 7202 via USB and running in a terminal, which is where I
am writing this. The VuFine is being used as a HUD for a
terminal session I am using to transfer mp3 files from a
locally mounted 2.5" hard drive on gojira (RPi2) over to 128
microSD card locally mounted to the Pi. I am monitoring the
progress of the file transfer and have been copying things
over manually by folder (ugh). It's not too bad, but it is
taking some time. MicroSD is now affordable enough for me to
transfer my mp3 collection to 1 microSD card. I got the card
on the cheap ($19US, I think) during the Amazon Prime day
deals. Yeah, I participated. The deals were just ok and I
had cash to go shopping so I bought a bunch of cheap stuff.
I'm a sucker for cheap deals.

Anyhow, getting back to the file transfer, I have been
wanting to have a copy of my mp3 archive on external flash
memory for awhile now and it is now pretty cheap to do it. I
have copies of it from over the years, but I have some
cleanup to do. I know I have different files in different
places with duplicates and stuff. Hopefully it won't be too
big of a chore to consolidate everything into a master
archive. The microSD card will be for the GeminiPDA.
Hopefully it can handle a card that size...it should.

It just baffles me that it seems like not that long ago, I
bought a 100GB 3.5" IDE hard drive for my audio CD backups
for about $100US at one of those computer fairs in Pomona
that they no longer have. I thought that was more than
enough back then. Now I have a tiny 128GB microSD card for
$19US that will work in my Gemini PDA and house my entire CD
collection (converted to mp3s) and mp3s I have purchased over
the years. I still have the drive and it sits in a USB
enclosure and has not been spun up for some time. I wonder
if it still works and what the collection looks like from
       back then.

Grr...the transfer has stalled again. I don't know why it
keeps doing that. Maybe the gojira is underpowered or the
       USB sux0rz...transfer now, troubleshoot later.

After the transfer, I want to clean up the file names and the
metadata...have some kind of standardization with my files.
Maybe even re-rip some of my CDs. That's for later, but the
goal right now is to have the archive on the microSD card.

So regarding the VuFine...it's one of those things...I buy a
cool piece of technology without having a concrete idea what
I am going to use it for and now I end up trying to find a
use for it. I got looking into HMD/VR displays again since I
got my vacation payout :/ I didn't want to shell out too
much, like for the Vive or Rift or something, so I ended up
picking up the VuFine. It's a monocular. It is pretty neat,
but I'm not really sure what I am going to use it for. The
wires are tolerable, but still annoying and the screen is
just OK. For terminal use, it is a bit small unless I
embiggen the fonts...usable, but not ideal. It seems to do
better with images or watching video. Doing actual work is
probably cumbersome. Using it for the task I am
doing...transferring files and keeping an eye on it until it
is done, is fine. I have attached it to some Pi's, but it
probably needs a special GUI...I don't see using it for
regular desktop tasks. So far, using this seated at a desk
seems to be ok. I gotta try other things. Like maybe coding
cookbook style or something. If my kids were still
babies, I'd use it for remote monitoring while geekin. This
should be documented in my notes. Anyhow, bleh...
