       Censorship, however excellent, misses its purpose if it is too harsh. By wanting to correct the author, she revolts him, and by this very fact she confirms him in his defects or discourages him, a real misfortune, if the author has talent. It seems, therefore, that one must applaud frankly what is good in a writer, and take up what is wrong with care and politeness.
