bing and duckgo are my main two search engines, and I've always noticed
the results as pretty distinctly different on occasions I search both.
Consulting wiki, it turns out your theory is partially correct to a small
extent. The results probably include a portion of bing as well as google
       results:

wiki: " DuckDuckGo is built primarily upon search APIs from various
vendors. Because of this, TechCrunch characterized the service as a
       "hybrid" search engine."

Seeing how popular Duckgo has become it'd be surprising if they don't have
an internal search engine as well. If not, I think it'be only a matter of
       time.

What other search engines besides google, bing, and duckgo do you guys
       use?

For me, third is startpage; then yandex. Followed by ecosia, google, and
       searx.be
