SUBJECT: Who wrote the New Testament Gospels?
       DATE: 26-Feb-25 01:49:52

There are at least 5 gospels in the Christian New Testament:

The so-called "Gospel According to Mark"
The so-called "Gospel According to Mathew"
The so-called "Gospel According to Luke"
And, the so-called "Gospel According to John"

Finally, there is also a hypothetical gospel, referred to by the Biblical
scholars as "The Gospel Q" ('Q' stands for Quelle in German, which means
source), in fragmentary form, used as a source by the authors of Gospel of
Mathew and Gospel of Luke to compose their gospels. The authors of these 2
gospels also used Gospel of Mark as a source while composing their
       gospels, by the way.

Many Christians (sadly) might not be aware, but all these New Testament
gospels are, actually, *Anonymous*; that is, we don't know who wrote them.
If you read these gospels, you will see that the authors of these books
       did not identify themselves.

       Who wrote these gospels?
Why did they choose not to identify themselves?
Where did they get their information from?
When were these gospels written? 70's, 80's, 90's, 100's or even later?

       What is our evidence?

..which obviously raises another more important question: How accurate are
       these gospels?

Have the Christians ever thought about it?

       Thanks.
