       SUBJECT: SDF Preserves M-NET!
       DATE: 04-Feb-25 17:41:34
       HOST: mx

The current maintainers of M-NET, the first Public Access UNIX System and
one of the longest running, have asked the SDF Computer Museum to preserve
       the final incarnation in perpetuity.

You can now experience what M-NET was by either logging in to your existing
account or as 'ssh guest@m-net.arbornet.org' password 'guest'. Only the
remaining active users have data migrated. Any inactive or old users no
data was migrated and is not available to us. There are appromiately 33000
       user accounts on M-NET.

Special thanks to Dan Cross (cross) and Tony Publiski (tonster) for making
this happen. Dan will continue to maintain the M-NET instance at SDF.
