       ## What brings me here
       
       The world is full of information, narratives, beliefs. Constant multiplication. Necessarily so, for that is the only way the system can sustain itself, since it is designed entirely around growth. This is reflected most of all in our beloved WWW: an internet full of voices and opinions that disregard any facts. Ad popups, paywalls, and above all social media, which constantly spooks everyone and everything, giving you the feeling that you must not miss a single piece of information anymore.
       So what brings me here. A quieter internet, a nostalgic, romantic notion of how communication can work. A protected place where it is not the information that finds me, but the other way around.
       A silent pond amidst the floods of the sea.
       
       ## Who am I anyway
       
       I am an IT guy, musician, writer, husband, dog dad. Everything I do, including something like this, I just do. Whether it's learning an instrument, writing a book, learning a new language. My thought is always: there is no next time. If I don't try it in this life, there will be no second chance. That is exactly what drives me and keeps me stumbling upon new things, recognising connections and setting new goals.
       
       ## A few more words
       
       All non-German texts are translated from German to English. I write in German because I can simply think more easily in my native language and creativity can flow more undisturbed. The texts are translated by an LLM (gemma:12b). The prompt asks it to preserve my writing style as best it can.
       For the German texts, I use "gemma" exclusively to proofread what I have written.
