          are you not ashamed that you turn over your own faculty of
          judgment to whoever happens along?
       
       I think about this particularly when driving, although naturally
       it has application in just about any social interaction.  When
       someone drives in a way that irritates or disturbs me, I do try
       to remember that his actions are his own, and that what is up to
       me is how I am going to respond.  I also acknowledge that
       anything other than remaining calm in my response is almost
       certainly going to be mostly deleterious to me, and that there
       is a good chance they will continue on their way blissfully
       aware or unconcerned with the potential impact of their choices.
       If that is the case, working to remove their power to influence
       my own mood is the only reasonable choice to make.
