 (TXT) Encheiridion 18

When a raven gives an unfaborable sign...do not be carried
          away by the appearance

The world is vast and its works are many. What can we do besides
take what comes to us and transform it into good?

Nevertheless, I can't help but note that while many things are
petty to Epictetus, he refrains from describing family so. This
feels significant to me, as though there ought to be something
considered meaningful with these as opposed to the rest. Perhaps
the Stoic would consider these to merit a higher degree of
gratitude. I do not know, not being a Stoic. But I find the
       thought agreeable.
