(Ed: Not sure of first name.) Dode E. Draves Route A, Box 246 Hemet, California April 30, 1921 ་ Mrs. Theo. L. Blanke 626 LaFayette Ave. S.E. Grand Rapids, Michigan Dear Aunt Mamie and family, I don't know if it is my turn to write or not, but here goes, as I want to know for sure if you all can come out this June. We are all looking for you and what's more, I am going to have my piano tuned up next month so it will be in good shape when you come. Have you gone through your operation yet? My, I wish I could take care of you, for I just love to take care of sick people. I have quit my job and am staying at home and it certainly seems good. I do not get much rest though, as I have company most of the time or I am on the go. This is the way it goes: Monday morning I washed. In the afternoon I went over to little lake to fish. Saw plenty, but could not catch them. Tuesday morning I ironed and in the afternoon had company from up town. In the evening, went to the show. Wednesday, Henry and I cleaned up the yard and cut the grass, and in the evening went to a dance. Thursday, Clarence and I went to Riverside for all day and had a real good time on my birthday, and in the evening we went to a play given by the Eastern Stars. Friday I cleaned house. Saturday (today) I did my Sunday baking and did odds and ends, and then took a hot bath. Now I am waiting for Clarence to come along, as tonight we are both going to the Eastern Star dance. Sunday we are going to the mountains with a bunch, to fish. You see, dear, I am on the go all of the time. But next week I have to do some of my sewing before it gets too hot. Our weather is real nice now, but all of our fruit froze this year. But there is no use crying over spilt milk. Henry is home with us for a while, which makes it so nice for us. He is so full of fun and keeps us laughing when he is around. He has gone up town this after noon, and then he is going to the dance. Mother and Papa are both well at the present writing. Papa is irrigating today. Mother says for you to hurry along and bring those boys to her so she can love them. She says she thinks she can spoil Gordon like she did Donald, by rocking him to sleep. She often speaks of Donald and wishes she could see him and play with him. Esther and family are all well and doing nicely. Alice and Charles are both well, and so is Uncle Henry and Aunt Libbie. Say, I don't think you would know our town any more. It has grown so, and every thing has changed so over the last few years. Now, dear, please hurry up and get well and come and see us as you can. Hoping this finds all well, with lots of love and best wishes to all of you from all of us. Lovingly, Dode P.S. Write real soon, please
