Edwin S. Blanke Tempe, Arizona October 30, 1910 Mr. Theodore L. Blanke 618 Fulton St. Wausau, Wisconsin Dear brother Theodore:- I recieved your letter yesterday. Glad to hear from you again. Heard from Arthur. Am enclosing his letter. That explains it better than I can. Show it to Pa if you want to. Burn it up when you have read it. I told him we can get the money for him if he would ship. I also told him I would get a job for as many horses as he wanted to work before he got here (Cochise) so he wouldn't be taking any chances at all. I think he will come. Am also enclosing a letter from the real estate man at Cochise. I believe I'll contest the fellow on the east next spring. He filed a year ago and has made no improvements at all. What do you think about it? Did Tillie show you the postal Agnes sent? Here is what she wrote: "Tell my Dutch Uncle that I will write as soon as I ask my Ma & Pa's permission. Am a lady of leisure now, A.B.” Did you write something about you being her Dutch Uncle? I was sure of getting a job here. I went to lodge last night and a week ago. A week ago I had to be chaplin and last night make a speech. Am right in it here. That's what I am figuring on raising here, fruit. Cochise is a fine pear, peach, apple, grape, watermellon....etc...fruit country. I wish you could take up 320 acres, too, at Cochise, but am afraid we can't handle it now. We need the money. The only way we can work Lordsburg is to file first, before the U.S. puts in that ditch, if we can. It's 100 feet to water. Yes, I can get the pack films here. I left the camera at Cochise. Write soon. Fine weather here. Your brother, Edwin
