Edwin S. Blanke Tempe, Arizona October 16, 1910 Mr. Theodore L. Blanke 618 Fulton St. Wausau, Wisconsin Dear Brother:- I received your letter with those pictures in, the other day. Sorry that the picture of the pump and engine was no good. I wanted to write sooner, but didn't have an envelope and didn't get to Tempe until last night. I arrived here 2 weeks ago today. Was in Phoenix Monday and came back here Mon. P.M. and got a job right away. Am working just across the street from Peterson's, so am right at home. I know you are willing to help, but I know how much money we have to work on and hate to use it up. I want to earn some, too, and put it in. I intend to stay here until March 4th now, and then go back and put up a house and start to improve it. Do some plowing, too. I will have a little money then and you will have more saved up. We will both have to save and work hard to make it go. I don't know enough about farming either. This farmer has a fine orchard of all kinds and I can learn quite a bit here. I am just like at home here. I am going to write about that other 160 acres today. We can work it alone. Koch wants to buy, not file. I was just out and filled up on pears. I have been eating all I could stand since I came here. We have dates, figs, peaches and, in a month oranges will be ripe. Sorry Mamie was sick. Your brother, Edwin
