I have been trying to get my Pa1mOne keyboard working with 
the N900 without much success.  I was able to get it to work 
initially, but it crapped out so I've been going back to the 
old forums for reference.

The maemo forums are still fairly active, which surprised me 
since the N900 came out in 2009.  Then again, not really 
considering how rad the device was when it came out and how
enamored I was with it.  Had it not been for my cellular 
provider dropping support for 2G, I would still be using this 
phone as my daily driver.  Instead, I was forced to upgrade 
my phone (actually downgrade) to keep their services.  I 
could have gone with a different provider, but did not want 
to impact my family's bundled package.

Regarding the USB keyboard, I had forgotten that there was 
another way to use the keyboard that came after the h-e-n app 
method (Hostmode ENabler.)[1]  There was the USB Mode app. [2]
I had tried this before and I recall success...probably much 
better than I have over the past couple attempts.

The repository [3] is still active, so I was able to grab the 
software via Fapman.  I'm glad it is still available, but not 
sure how long it will be.  I wonder how difficult it would be
to mirror locally?  Unfortunately, it's over 20GB, from what 
I read.

I also learned that there is even a newer version of Maemo 
that is being developed, called Maemo Leste. [4]  Ugh, I just 
read that aloud as May Molest...an unfortunate name.  Anyhow,
from their website, "Welcome to the Maemo Leste website; 
Maemo Leste continues the legacy of Maemo. We aim to provide 
a free Maemo experience on mobile phones and tablets like the 
Nokia N900, Motorola Droid 4, Allwinner Tablets and more."

Looks like I have more options for future usage now. 
Currently, I'm just interested in revisiting the device and 
recalling the adventures we had.  I should just keep it at 
that for now.
