# Men's Traditions & God's Commandments Mark 7:1-23 Pharaiees and the teachers accused Jesus' diciples not washing their hands before meal, and it was not hygiene but to upkeep their traditions. Jesus replied the Pharisees only followed the traditions passed down by the people and made them sacred, of which did not come from God. (7:11-12) Jesus accused Pharisees that they taught people if they give offerings to God instead to their parents, they no longer need to offer to their parents as well. This wasn't what God has intended. While Jesus was on earth, He hhealed many people and changed many people's lives, yet Pharisees' lives remained unchanged despite enocounterer Jesus several times. They choose not to change their way of life. Pastor mentioned he wishes what he taught is less from men's teachings but more from God. Jesus was here to teach love. The church should be a place of love, not a place of sharing whatever was in one's heart, especially if the hearts are filled with bad intentions. For instance, if we find someone who might act spiritual publicly, but not in their private life, instead criticizing said person, or worse, gossiping about it with other people, we should be praying for this person instead. We should avoid "defiling" our brothers and sisters in Christ. May the family of God has more of God's truth and less of men's teachings. More emphasis on God and less emphasis on men. The more we emphasize on God's truth, the merrier we are. 2026/8/30 => /thyrium/index.gmi Go back
