# Special church gatherings (This gemlog was delayed because I wasn't sure how to summarizing the past couple gatherings.) We had an Argentinian speaker coming to our church and we hosted special church gatherings for him for the past few days. To be honest I wasn't quite able to sum up his core message since I only attended 2 out of the 3 gatherings. Also this pastor emphasized on worship and the "presence of God" during the meeting, meanwhile the sermon was not necessarily the core aspect of the gathering. Not to mention we needed an interpretor traslating from Spanish to Mandarine, which some essense may be lost during translation. I just wrote down whatever I could remember. One anedote he mentioned during the Sunday service was that he used to have weight-loss injections. The drug worked exceptionally well, but the side effect was losing his appetite. He then used this incident as an allegory for Christians to avoid the spiritual "weight-loss drug", or anything that hinders the desire for the Word of God. One intriguing thing he did was after he mention that we should alway have bread on our table (symbolizing Christians should always have Word of God readily available), he took out an unlevened bread and asked each of us to break off a small piece from it. He told us to keep the bread as a reminder that we should have God's Word with us and we must NOT eat it because the bread was just a symbol. Besides, it was passed to several people which was rather unhygenic. A friend of mine did actually ate his piece of bread perhap he was too hungry for lunchand he didn't fell well after eating it. I still kept my bread. I even put it in my oven to dry the moisture so it will last longer. Maybe I'll encase it in epoxy cuz why not. 2026/08/25 => /thyrium/index.gmi Go back
