Technology/Current Desk (faeroes), 09/23/2019 ------------------------------------------------------------ Speaking about my physcial desk right now... I'm currently setup to do some videos for a client, which is taking a lot of space. I don't know much about videos, but the client just wants "something", so I am getting that done. That's taking 1 of 3 tables. Table 2 is cluttered with a scanner and wacom tablet that I rarely use, and a few other odds and ends. There's a square plastic bottle of rubbing alcohol and a rag for cleaning things. Some 2" wide blue masking tape and a residential LED light bulb, a box of tissues and some folded up headphones. There's also a roll of 2" wide vinyl labeling tape, and hey, there's my notebook with my NASCOM BASIC manual, KERMIT manual, and a few other things. Table 2.5, which I failed to account for, is a tiny little table next to table 2. It has a VERY AWESOME blue project enclosure that is rather large, which I hope to fill with a homebrew computer at some point. My kindle is sitting over there, probably dead from lack of use lately, along with my TI-85 (not dead, just checked), a CD case with some old backups in it, and a null serial cable. Table 3 is where all the action is. I'm sitting at table 3, so my laptop is here, a nice mic (for those videos) on a little tripod sits next to me. I forgot to mention, but table 1 and 3 both have surge protectors attached to the top-left corner. Behind my laptop is my enclosed Z80 prototype board (mentioned elsewhere in gopherspace), with a PS2 keyboard sitting atop it. To the left of that is my Briel Pocketerm and my z80 SBC on PCB. To the right of the enclosed z80 computer is my commodore US*1M calculator and a cassette deck (the z80 has a cassette interface for saving BASIC programs). There's a tape in there, but if you play it you'll just here 300 baud noise (and not very good 300 baud noise at that). Oh hey, the book i've been working on is balanced across the gap between tables 1 and 3... why is 1 in the middle and 2&3 on either side? I should probably re-number these... I just noticed that a pop guard and a zippo are hiding behind the monitor on table 1. I trimmed the wick and filled it with fluid a day or two ago. The lighter, not the pop guard. I'm obviously either bored, or I'm avoiding some work.
