[Stuff to consider. Mess with it, play with it, &c.] Concept #1: Cause & Effect - Americans especially have a really hard time with this. Not an insult; an observation, having lived around the country. Understand the effects your actions (and words) have, and life will have less friction. Understand that the cause may be something you didn't learn about in school. Always ask why. Concept #2: Everything is a tradeoff. In the software world pretty much every algorithm trades "space" for "speed". Economics has "opportunity costs". Understand the goal and what compromises will work for the situation. Concept #3: Nature operates in Cycles. Events, processes, and sometimes history oscillates. Usually it's more of a 'spiral' than a 'circle', ending up not exactly where it started, but very similar on multiple dimensions. [Reminders to Self] - Live Life (is it that simple? yes) - Small Wins -> build Momentum - Worrying is Optional - Focus on more Good Stuff to balance noticing the bad stuff (evolutionary survival tactic) - Keep moving -> draw energy away from Overthinking
