October 13th, 2015: I've had a bit of time to play in the lab, although not as much time as I'd have liked. I've discovered the NVRAM/IDPROM in my Sun Ultra 5 is dead, so I have to reprogram it every time I power it on... at least until I hack a couple of batteries onto it (or replace it altogether). Not the worst problem I could have, I'm just glad the system still works, considering the amount of time I have invested in the thing! My Sparc IPX, whose NVRAM is also dead (but has the battery hack installed) is chugging along just fine. I have a network issue to sort out (le0 has been disabled while le1 is running, opposite to what I want) but that's a trivial task. I'm planning on reinstalling Solaris 7 on the machine soon, using a bigger hard drive. I kept running out of room after going hog-wild on the erstwhile SunFreeware site, and really need to pare the system down. Much of what I had planned for the IPX has been offloaded to a Raspberry Pi, which frees the IPX for more... educational... purposes..
