Joanna finished packing her lunch in her blue lunch bag she had just purchased the night before. She was excited to start her first real job out of college. She had put herself through school waiting tables; but this was different. Instead of hustling for a few bucks here and there, she'd be hustling for some big money. Well, at least eventually. For now, she took an entry level job at the customer service department of Quippo's. It seemed like a no-brainer to Joanna to get her foot in the door at Quippo's. Most of the employees who worked there were very happy with their jobs, resulting in low turnover. This was during good economic times. With the 2010 economy, Quippo's employees were hard pressed to find anything as good as what they already had. She stayed in touch with some of her classmates who were waiting for jobs in their field. They had been waiting for months. There was a trade-off from waiting tables to customer service. She had grown accustomed to having cash every day. Getting paid every two weeks wasn't too bad; it was better than a monthly salary. Still, she would have to practice a little restraint on payday.
