!Enter IRC and about balance --- Sun Mar 29 13:50:28 UTC 2026 --- Just checking out IRC on sdf. I idle on the following channels: - #vim - #anonradio - #gopher - #hurtdesk The topic on #hurtdesk is funny: Have you tried turning it On and Off again? | Noob: blah blah blah? Leet: Did you RTFM? Noob: [yes/No]. Leet: Then why are you asking me? Reminded me of this little comic: https://www.reddit.com/r/ProgrammerHumor/comments/xeo5ab/junior_vs_senior/ I've experienced this having stood on both sides. As a junior: keep asking questions, no matter what. In the beginning it can be a little difficult to determine what an "allowed" question is, you'll get there and don't stress too much. I've seen juniors becoming quiet and stop progressing due to a fractured ego. Don't let that happen to you. As a senior: be firm when you need to be, try to be kind and affirming otherwise to get the best results. To find balance is a challenge.
