The Met Office have confirmed that the UK has just experienced its 
hottest summer on record. That will be no surprise to any Brit. There 
was something that felt very unnatural about this summer. That's not the 
end of it though: globally, the past decade is also reckoned to be the 
warmest on record. We are seeing the effects of this almost daily, and 
still there is no political will to do anything. What will it take for 
us to see sense?
