Blackout ========= Today, around about 18:00, with Junior sitting in my lap and working at my main computer suddenly everything went dark, with a low iiiiiuuuuuuh the spinning rust hard disk of the HP DC7800 "Convertible Minitower" (i have to write about it in another post) spun down and we sat there, in darkness while my wife let loose some vietnamese curses i haven't heard until now. Well, we live in an ancient house with ancient electric cabeling, but i was really sure i exorcised most of the gremlins out of the systems for about a year now. But, alas, here we were in the dark. As the lights still were on in my parents part of the house i quickly ruled out something like a general electric blackout (hey, with the US and Russia now being somewhat of an enemy... who knows?) and began to disconnect cabels and shut off devices. To make a long story (which includes myself running up and down stairs, switiching on and of breakers) short: It was the induction stove in our kitchen that was responsible for this little personal sneak peak of the apocalypse. The second one in under four years. Just right after the guarantee expired. Well, with the stove disconnected and the evening meal (pasta with salmon) converted to some form of casserole in our air fryer we made a decission: No more induction stove! Tomorrow we will look into a bog standard cast iron stove like it existed for about ~100 years now.
