First post from the 'new' Thinkpad X270, new to me at least. I was using an old HP Pavilion 11 as a portable laptop but I managed to completely break it after some mucking around with a new battery. Before it actually died though I was very pleased with the Arch setup so, probably foolishly, I bought an old Thinkpad X270 on Amazon. To be fair it was supposed to be an X250 but they sent me an X270 anyway, no complaints there. More battery problems actually, the first battery was a 6-cell which worked fine and had a pretty long life but the locking clip was broken, making the laptop a bit tricky to use, the company sent me another 3-cell battery FOC, working well so far. Now I have Arch, openbox as a WM, X booting into a fullscreen Alacritty terminal, JetBrains nerd font and picom transparency. Let's hope I don't kill this one too soon... .
