PopOS 24.04 broke my computer, with a little help from Nvidia and Wayland I believe. And I mean completely broke, as in totally unusable. Luckily I managed to get into a recovery shell and transfer some files to a backup, then I installed OpenSUSE instead, which is now going well. More disappointing because I've used PopOS for several years, and in fact I installed it in the first place because it was better at dealing with my "legacy" Nvidia card, but the new version killed all that. I like OpenSUSE so far, it feels like a more traditional Linux system, KDE Plasma at the moment which makes a change. Emacs and mu4e setup without problems last night, even with having to switch from offlineimap to mbsync as there wasn't an official offlineimap in the repositories. .
