====== CMS tryout ====== I'm back to thinking that maybe I want some lightweight content management system (CMS) to manage public WWW content. ===== Here's my requirements ===== * generates static HTML pages * data files maintainable from either 1) shell, or 2) WWW * readable file names * categories mapped to directories * partitioned data and CMS management files * at least HTTP basic authorization for maintenance * raw text/HTML editor * "blog", but OK to maintain by hand on top page * blog entry comments ===== Lingering concerns ===== * If I can maintain site via WWW, there's less need for distribute maintenance, but I still might want to do distributed maintenance for off-line work. * **DISTRIBUTED BACKUP A MUST** * Do I need version management? * Probably not included in lightweight CMS * Less need if no distributed maintenance * Less need if I trust WWW maintenance security * Migration from (this) Dokuwiki * Do I want some kind of wiki or collaborative maintenance for some content? ===== CMS reviews ===== ^ CMS ^ URI ^ Evaluation ^ | Pulse CMS | http://pulsecms.com/ | No directories.
