PESTICIDE RESIDUES

I was referred to this list [ http://www.ewg.org/foodnews/list/ ] [ewg.org]
from a former clinical supervisor by the Environmental Working Group for
information about pesticide residues.  Apparently a set of fruits and
vegetables were subjected to high-power pressure washing and then tested
for pesticide residues.  Interesting to see which are considered clean and
which aren't.

I have been a considerable fan of local & organic produce for some time,
although I admit I haven't paid as much attention to exactly _which_ foods
are best to purchase organically.  I suppose as a generality, everything
is.  But if your budget is constrained such a list can be a good piece of
information to have.

I am glad that this group also spends some time publishing their
methodology, although I wonder whether these tests have been repeated
multiple times to get independent confirmation.
