FOLLOW UP

I suppose I should post a follow up on the job interview that I mentioned
in the last post.  It was a long interview (about four hours), and
consisted of meeting with a number of different individuals from all over
the company.  In the end, they decided they didn't want to hire me.

Oh well.

I've had another interview since then, which was a similar length and had a
similar format (perhaps a four hour interview isn't actually long?).  They
came back saying they weren't saying no, but they weren't saying yes
either.  I think I'm on something like the hiring deferred list, where if
they don't come across anyone else they like then I might get a call later.
 It's good news, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Got another prospect coming down the line tomorrow.  Hopefully this one
will turn out well.  Every company I've talked to thus far has been because
I've received tips from headhunters or through the network of people I
know.  If this new one falls through then I need to start hunting companies
down directly.  I think that will be particularly time consuming, but it is
what you do when you go job hunting.
