HOLIDAY STROLL (Posted 2010-11-29 16:12:45 by ArchPaladin) This past weekend my wife and I went to the Holiday Stroll in Nashua. This is an annual event where the city will block off Main Street in Nashua and coordinate a number of local artists and exhibits to be present there for a few hours. Of course, during this time all the local businesses on the strip are also open. It was pretty cool, although really cold to be out walking. There was an ice sculpture exhibit, many local bands and choruses, some performances from the Society of American Magicians, and a small outside theater set up that would play holiday movies. There were also stands from the Red Cross trying to organize blood donations. My wife and I walked through a number of the local stores, as apparently this is a good commercial opportunity for the local businesses. We have determined that the main street in Nashua is a vastly underutilized resource in the city as there are apparently a lot of small places selling obscure stuff that we like, and was completely unknown to us, despite having lived in Nashua for three years now. We walked by a number of the local performances too - some of which were really good - but we didn't stay long there because it wasn't as interesting. Admittedly, I do wish that they would have the event when it was warmer and easier to walk around. -------- There are no comments on this post.
