PHIL'S APPLE ORCHARD (Posted 2010-09-25 16:11:38 by ArchPaladin) Another autumn tradition that my wife and I have is to go apple picking. Last year we went to Currier Orchards, which I posted about before. Last week we went out to Phil's Orchard, which is a small family-run orchard located in Harvard, MA. They have a few acres of apple trees, many of them Cortlands, which are my wife's favorite. Unlike Currier, Phil's is not surrounded entirely by woods, but is instead in the middle of a very sparse suburban neighborhood. Despite the difference, there was still a long line of cars parked on the side of the road, all wanting to pick apples. We decided to go there this year and pick up a half-peck of apples for various gustatory purposes. Perhaps the best part about Phil's is that they press their own apple cider. It has a unique and very smooth flavor. [nggallery id=7] -------- There are no comments on this post.
