MINIMALIST HOUSING

I have recently stumbled upon Alchemy Architects [ http://weehouse.com/ ]
[weehouse.com] - a company that makes minimalist housing units.  Basically,
they are modular house units that have a lot of different customization
options.

Apart from the technologically intensive website and the unusual name for
their housing products, the idea is rather cool.  Generally I have never
thought much about prefabricated homes, but this company seems to have done
it right.  I think the selling point is primarily in the language:
_prefabricated_ homes to me have always seemed a little slummy (although I
couldn't really tell you why, and it's probably just a bad assumption),
whereas _modular_ appeals to my software-developer-sense of good design,
practicality, and other general minimalist desires.  I could see myself
looking at one of these things seriously for purchase, although I'd have to
consult with my other half when making these kinds of decisions, and I'd
need to get rid of a lot of crap in my garage.

Not that I don't already need to get rid of a lot of crap in my garage.
