08:34 CDT ========================================================================== Hmmm... This is strange. It only took me 77 minutes to reach work this morning. I'll take the small victories where I can get them. Again, it's another full day in the computer lab. The first test was scheduled from 08:00 to 09:30. However, they finished in 30 minutes. That leaves me an extended break before the next test at 10:00. I had to switch from my job-issued Macbook back to the old Dell Latitude 5400 running Bodhi Linux. The Mac just feels sluggish with all the management software running on it. Also, it's locked-down nature really annoys and insults me. I can see if I were a non-techy office 'droid where such measures are necessary. But my job is IT-related, and has been so for 26 years. 11:11 CDT ========================================================================== Ahhh, this is much better. That Macbook was driving me crazy. Or rather, that 'managed' Macbook. Linux-based tools are more useful to me at work, not to mention the lack of monetary costs to my employer. I'm actually in a pretty good mood today. I can probably attribute that to the shorter commute time I experienced this morning. I won't argue with success. ;) 12:59 CDT ========================================================================== The last test of the day started without issues at 12:30. The day has been smooth sailing for me. I can live with that. 13:15 CDT ========================================================================== That was quick! They finished that test fast. Looks like the rest of the day is mine. 20:26 CDT ========================================================================== For reasons unknown, there was a big traffic jam just north of Kyle. Usually, it starts just north in Buda. It wasn't as if I were delayed 2 hours, but it did delay me a bit. Regardless, I made it home in one piece.
