10:25 CDT ========================================================================== Yesterday was a bit hectic at work, with back-to-back tests going from morning to afternoon. The morning commute did not help my mood. I was grumpy from the start of the day. I know that public transportation systems provide a service to people. But in Austin, Texas, Capitol Metro is a big pain in my ass. On my route, the bus stops are placed at the corners of intersections. As a result, a bus will be onloading/offloading passengers when the traffic light turns green. By the time the bus has moved on, I am caught by the red light. I guess that is the price I have to pay for being gainfully employed. I know: First-world problems, and all that... This morning is better. There are only two events scheduled for the lab today. It will be less chaotic around here. I should be able to work from home tomorrow and Friday. :) 11:35 ========================================================================== I learned something new for me concerning the terminal. The 'Backspace' key may not function as expected in a GUI. But the command 'stty -a' reveals which control character performs the 'Erase' function. Likely, it will be ^? or ^H. It's a journey, learning to do things from the terminal. But it is satisfying.
